About the Author

Joyce Harvey is a motivational and inspirational speaker, trainer, facilitator and writer. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, The American Legion Auxiliary and American Gold Star Mothers.

She is the author of Open to the Moment: 25 Heartwarming Travel Stories, Swan Lessons: A Bereaved Mother’s Story of Courage and Discovery (Amazon.com), I’m Fine … I’m With the Angels, an illustrated children’s book on dying and life after death, and the author of How Do You Grow a New Heart?. She is a contributing author for Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul, Chicken Soup for the Grieving Soul and Chicken Soup for Recovering Soul: Daily Inspirations all by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hanson.

Ms. Harvey is active in the national and local bereavement community. She has spoken at a number of international grief conferences, including The Compassionate Friends and The International Conference on Bereavement. She helped to found and facilitate the bereavement support group FOCUS (Families of Children United in Spirit) in the Toledo area.

Ms. Harvey has presented hundreds of broadcasts on satellite television for major corporations such as Ford Motor Company in the capacity of instructor, speaker and host. She presented Ford Motor Company’s first satellite broadcast.

She has been the on-camera spokesperson and voice-over talent on television and radio commercials, as well as training films. She has been a guest on radio/on-line talk shows such as Healing the Grieving Heart.

Joyce was selected as an “Outstanding Young Woman of America” for her professional achievements and her contribution to the community. She has a background in nursing and taught critical care nursing courses to RNs who worked in critical care units.
